Billabong Who?
Billabong is one of the leading brands in the industry surfing dates back to the 1970s. In any store or Billabong surf beach is one of the marks will always find. They have a wide range of short films board bags for bikinis, cowboys, and more.
Who founded Billabong?
Billabong has been created surfer by Australian Gordon Merchant and his wife Rena Merchant. He began designing and making your first short board in the house on the east coast of Australia and sold at surf shops.
The singularity set Billabong Board Shorts apart from others that were available was the famous Triple-stitching technique developed by Gordon, who has made the board short, more long lasting.
Where does the name Billabong?
The name Billabong can be divided into 2 parts, and Billa Bong. "Billa" is a word that means "river or creek Australia and the word" bong " meaning "die". Thus, defining the 2 together, it is "an area of water from a river or stagnant water and refuse not run. "
Billabong logo 2 shows that the waves are working together and still are. They chose the name because of the uniqueness of Australia Aboriginal and feel of an oasis.
How Billabong become an international bestseller?
Since the success of Billabong experienced in its first year it opened its first factory in 1975. Year after year, returned its merchandise and sales have increased and moved to larger premises in 1981 has reached the milestone of 1 million dollars in annual sales. She began to sponsor the Festival Finale World Surfing (most big surfing competition in Hawaii always). This gave him international recognition were later Billabong and began exporting to Japan, USA, New Zealand and many others. Hence, the brand and sales grew to what is known today as one of the leading names in the industry surfing.
