With The White Stripes rising to success and prominence in the early aughts, it surprised few that Jack White’s newest project, the Detroit band The Raconteurs, would also quickly find success. Allowing White (along with collaborator Brendan Benson) to try things he doesn’t usually blend into his work, The Raconteurs had a similar but still distinct sound than The White Stripes.
To understand where the band’s roots lay, you first have to go back in time to 2003, when The White Stripes found mainstream success with Elephant. After that record, Jack White and singer/songwriter Brendan Benson teamed up and collaborated on the song “Steady as She Goes.†After that, they put a band together, forming the Raconteurs with several other musicians.
Their first release, 2006’s Broken Boy Soldiers, attracted a fair share of notice from the music press and fans alike. Most eyes, however, were on White, and what direction he would go after The White Stripes. The blues-based rock that Detroit was best known for, and which the The White Stripes undoubtedly led in the early ‘00s, had to evolve sometime. In The Raconteurs, that evolution appeared to be from blues-rock to…well, blues-rock with other influences. Psychedelic ones, largely looking to the ‘60s pop of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles.
The band was received well, though not necessarily enthusiastically. Many fans of The White Stripes didn’t see enough of a difference between the two to really switch camps or delve deeply into White’s newest project. But The Raconteurs sophomore release altered that by a bit.
In 2008, they released Consolers of the Lonely. The sepia-toned album cover, which makes the band look like blues-rock from the Civil War period rather than a modern day rock outfit, sends a message that this is music out of time. More than a reference to the Civil War, it probably hints at the bands in the ‘60s that often portrayed themselves as bands out of time (some of which had album covers similar to Consolers of the Lonely). Regardless, it was much better received than The Raconteurs previous album. The true testament of their success was the fact that more people were buying The Raconteurs tickets.

I looked pretty much everywhere!(Ebay,yahoo shopping page,etc) I need them for Halloween and they can’t be footless or knee highs !
